Agreements

You may have a concern that if you divorce or separate your case is going to end up in court and be very expensive. Actually most cases are agreed and it is very important that any agreement you reach is recorded in a type of agreement document. This is so everyone knows where they stand and to avoid or limit the prospect of someone later changing their minds. Agreements are much better too because they can be quicker and cheaper compared to court cases. We can help you with this.

The common types of agreements we can help you with:

Separation agreement – whether or not you are married this can help resolve and document your financial settlement or arrangements for the children.
Pre-nuptial agreement – agreeing the financial arrangements before you get married and to provide for certainty if there is a later separation
Post-nuptial agreement – agreeing the financial arrangements during the marriage and again to provide for certainty
Cohabitation agreement – perhaps for those who are going to start living together and so they know where they stand
Care plan – to record the care arrangements for the children

Sometimes, we can ask for help from another professional, for example, a mediator, counsellor, therapist or psychologist. Communication is key and we can also arrange roundtable meetings and adopt a collaborative approach to help your resolve your case.
